My app of the week: Nike+ GPS

September 7, 2010

This is my app of the week. Mainly because its aimed at the fitness freak, which sums me up completely, but also because it literally does everything you need in one app. The new Nike+ GPS now enables users to not only track pace, distance, and calories but to visually map routes on Google Maps. It also contains unique “accelerometry” software, which allows the runner to see not only where you went, but at which exact points you sprinted and slowed down. Seriously, this is amazing. But wait, it actually gets even better. Unlike the previous Nike+ iPod, Nike+ GPS requires no special sensors for the app to work. It’s a runner’s dream come true.

An inspired running experience
